SAMPLE LESSON

Memory Verse:Mark 16:15- "And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."

Scripture:Mark 5:19; II Corinthians 5:17; Luke 14:23

INTRODUCTION: In 1660 a preacher by the name of John Bunyan, who was only 32 years old at the time, was thrown in prison for preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  He was told to stop preaching, but he would not because he knew God wanted him to keep telling others about Jesus.  Mr. Bunyan had been put in prison several times for the same thing, but this time was worse than ever.  While in prison his son was born.  Shortly after he was born, he died.  Mr Bunyan did not get to be with his son nor his wife during such a hard time, yet he knew God was with him and would see him through.  He was in prison for almost 13 years.  While there he wrote a book that is still around today called Pilgrim's Progress.  He didn=t let being in prison discourage him.  He said that since he was in prison it gave him more time to be alone with his Savior.  He witnessed to the other prisoners and guards.  The authorities were so angry with him, they wanted to kill him.  They said if he would stop preaching he would be let out of prison.  His answer was, AAs to this matter, I am at a point with you; for if I were out of prison today, I would preach the gospel again tomorrow, by the help of God.  Finally, in 1672, the king decreed that all laws against Christians and preachers such as John Bunyan were abolished.  John Bunyan was free to leave prison!  What do you think he did when he got out?  Right!  He kept right on preaching.
Because John Bunyan had such strong convictions about letting others know about Jesus, he stood strong even in prison.  Because of his faithfulness, preachers have freedom in England even today.  You and I have freedom to tell others that good news about Jesus.  We are commanded to ring out that good news --- LET FREEDOM RING!

ITELL OTHERS ABOUT YOUR SALVATION
Mark 5:19 - ". . .Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee."
The best way to witness to someone who does not know Jesus as his Savior, is to tell him about when YOU got saved.
1)Tell him when you realized you were a sinner
2)Show him the same verses
3)Tell him the prayer you prayed
4)Tell how your life has changed since

IISHOW OTHERS WHAT HAS HAPPENED IN YOUR LIFE
II Corinthians 5:17 - "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:  old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
Jesus will bring a change in your life when you accept Him as Savior.  If you continue to do the same things you did before you were saved, why, then, would a lost person want the same salvation you have?  Show him you don't lie anymore, you don't cheat anymore, you don't disobey your parents, you go to church, you read your Bible and pray.  Doing these things will make you a better Christian and also show others that Jesus has made a difference in your life.

IIIINVITE OTHERS TO CHURCH WITH YOU
Luke 14:23 - ". . .Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled."
Invite your parents, brothers, sisters, friends, relatives, teachers, even enemies to come to church with you.  They ALL need Jesus to save them, too.  If you will live the proper life in front of them, they will want to come with you to church to hear about this Jesus Who saved you.

IVUSE A WITNESSING TOOL

Using the simple wordless book colors, you can witness to anyone:
1)BLACK - pictures sin (Romans 3:23)
2)RED - pictures Christ=s shed blood (Romans 5:9; Hebrews 9:22)
3)WHITE - pictures washing away sin (Romans 10:13; Isaiah 1:18)
4)GOLD - pictures heaven (Romans 6:23)
5)GREEN - pictures Christian growth (II Peter 3:18)

CONCLUSION:If you are saved, you have a wonderful gift that is to be shared with all those you meet.  That is why Christians are left on this earth.  We have a job to do.  Don't fail the Savior.  Do others know you have Jesus in your heart by watching you?  By listening to you?  Do they know you by your friends?  What kind of friends do you have?  Would Jesus be pleased with your testimony?

TEACHER SUGGESTION:Prepare a Awordless book witnessing tool for each student.  This may be done as a class or ahead of time.  Anything using the wordless book colors can be used such as a construction paper miniature book, bracelet with the five colored beads, felt book, bells (Let Freedom RING), etc.  Be creative and PLAN AHEAD!

Demonstrate how to witness with the wordless book colors.  Present a clear plan of salvation to your class.  (This should be done each day.)
